Your first few days at a new job can be both an exciting and nerve-racking experience. Luckily for the incoming apprentices at the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade, owned and managed by Event Hospitality Management Holding GmbH & Co KG, they begin their three-year apprenticeship with an “Induction Program” to help ease them into their new roles.
During the program, new apprentices are introduced to the culture and business activities of Marriott International and the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade, while also building relationships their new teammates. Second-year apprentices also remain very involved, providing tours around the property for the first-years and giving them the inside scoop about the program. The first day concludes with an in-house dinner followed by an overnight stay. The following morning, apprentices are joined for breakfast by the general manager before breaking off into their training for the day.
This extra training incorporated by the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade has made the transition for new apprentices much easier. It goes to show that training can, in fact, be both fun and educational—leading to a more well-prepared, aligned, connected and confident staff.
