An Assist from The Westin

The Westin Galleria Houston made a big assist last week to a valued Marriott partner when they needed it most. The story below is told by Marriott Senior Account Executive Joanne Lockard:

“On August 30, I was conducting a business review with the Travel Manager of a client and her boss, the senior director of procurement, when she received several urgent calls and emails. The client had a small project team in Houston that was removed from their hotel to provide space for FEMA. They were without a hotel and had no additional accommodations secured after calling 20 different hotels.

The travel manager looked to me and said ‘Can you help me?’ I immediately called the Hurricane response team and the agent had up-to-the-minute information on which hotels were open and had rooms available at that moment for same day arrival.

She supplied me with contact names and I immediately called the front desk at The Westin Galleria Houston. I spoke to front desk member, Shanza, who held the rooms for our client and provided me with her personal contact information so the customers could ask for her if they needed additional assistance. Within minutes we had the project team secured and a solution in place for this customer.

It goes without saying my customers saw the value of our business relationship and the power of doing business with a supplier like Marriott!”
