So many people have submitted fabulous stories about their Associate Appreciation Week celebrations that we wanted to share one more post to celebrate the newbies – the new hotels that have opened and new brands that have joined our family.
The JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City – Santa Fe, owned by Grupo Diaz and managed by Grupo Diestra, and the Armenia Marriott Hotel Yerevan showed new hotels the ropes of Associate Appreciation Week. In Mexico City, The Westin Santa Fe, Mexico City and Sheraton Santa Fe, Mexico City joined in on an all-day Spirit to Serve clean-up activity. In Armenia, The Alexander, A Luxury Collection Hotel Yerevan, which opens at the end of 2017, was invited to join all of the Armenia Marriott Hotel’s AAW celebrations throughout the week.
Properties unified their associates in their own ways. The Westin Excelsior and The St. Regis Rome featured Peru during their ongoing monthly tradition of featuring associates’ home cuisine in the cafeteria. They also took TakeCare to the Roman Villa Borghese park for a 4-hour morning session of Bio Energetics to relieve stress and tension.
Associates from The Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi donated to and engaged in a lot of fun activities with the children at an underprivileged school called Jayshta Free Primary School in the Harayana region of India. Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade, owned and managed by Event Hospitality Management Holding GmbH & Co KG, started the week with a breakfast buffet in the staff cafeteria, organized fun games during the week, and finished with ice cream and sweets for all. Meanwhile, the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore received a visit from the official MLB Oriole mascot.
Lastly, in a grand gesture, The Westin Calgary and the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel together organized 16 hotels (many of whom were previously competitors) to come together to create a giant M to be photographed from a helicopter above.
