Forty associates from The Westin Resort & Spa, Cancun in Mexico, recently spent the day cleaning around the Nichupté Lagoon and mangrove area surrounding the resort. Beginning at 08:00 AM, the team collected several bags of inorganic waste and properly disposed of them.
Located on the east coast of Cancun, Nichupté Lagoon is one of the best examples of a natural paradise, playing a starring role in many of today’s Cancun vacations. The lagoon represents a large area of natural reserve for the local mangrove ecosystem, which is home to many different animal species.
This is an example of how associates across Marriott International work together to help Nurture Our World and Sustain Responsible Operations, integral parts of Marriott’s sustainability and social impact platform, Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction.
