One person’s trash is another’s treasure. In this case, people’s trash became a very special Christmas tree for those at Le Méridien Kochi.
According to The Guardian, one million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute and the number will jump another 20% by 2021. This use of plastic is not environmentally sustainable and needs to change.
This year, associates used recycled waste from the hotel to create a towering, 25-foot Christmas tree. Made from more than 3,000 used water bottles and pipes, this wondrous creation serves as a reminder to all associates and guests about our collective responsibility towards the environment.
As a continued effort to reduce the use of plastic bottled water, Le Méridien Kochi encourages all convention centre guests to use water from reusable bubble-top water dispensers. How will you help the environment this year?
