Inspired by the Lapita Movement, The Lapita, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Autograph Collection Hotel, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, recently enhanced its guest check-out experience by adding a heart-warming tradition it calls “The Farewell Ritual.”
The Lapita Movement is the journey of the pre-historic descendants who traveled across the Pacific Ocean and were the first humans to colonize the Pacific Islands.
Upon check-out, “The Farewell Ritual” invites guests to select a “Memory Seashell,” write their names on the shell, and place it on the hotel’s “Memory Wall.” This wall depicts the islands of ancient Polynesia, such as the Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, New Caledonia, and Samoa, to name a few. Guests are welcome to pose for a polaroid picture in front of the wall that they can then take home as a souvenir.
The “Farewell Ritual” aims to engage guests in a meaningful way and instill a sense of belonging. It is a testament to the holiday experience families can expect during their stay at Lapita, Dubai Parks and Resorts. It is uncommon experiences such as this that brings Autograph® Collection Hotels’ unique character to life and gifts guests memories and perspectives that stick with them long after their stay.
