What if you could get a good workout by cleaning up your community? That’s exactly what Marriott International associates from 13 different hotels in the United Kingdom did. Associates spent a day “plogging”— jogging while picking up liter.
Plogging was founded in Sweden after a growing concern regarding plastic pollution and has spread around the globe as a fun way to take care of the environment and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Organized by the United Kingdom South Business Council, associates plogged around Clapham Common for three hours, collecting 75 bags of trash!
Associates across Marriott International are using innovative ways, like plogging, to help Nurture Our World and Sustain Reponsible Operations, integral parts of Marriott’s sustainability and social impact platform, Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction.
