Serving our world is a cornerstone of Marriott’s culture. If we aren’t helping our communities, we aren’t doing our whole job. Associates of the Courtyard by Marriott Siem Reap Resort took this to heart and decided to give back to their community in a way they never have before.
Siem Reap is a historic archeological destination with ancient temples and ruins scattered throughout the city. They are a major attraction for our guests, and associates often recommend that guests explore the variety of ancient places Siem Reap has to offer. Associates of the Courtyard wanted to help maintain the integrity of these sites while also helping to protect the environment.
With the help of the Siem Reap HR Club, associates set out to the forest at Tbeng Village to plant some additional trees. They planted three different species, all with the goal of increasing forest cover and helping reduce greenhouse gasses.
Oftentimes, action is not taken to preserve and protect until it is too late. It’s clear associates take great pride in their city and it’s great to see them being proactive in their response to the ever-changing environment!
