In partnership with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley, volunteers from the San Jose Marriott in San Jose, California, recently repaired and revitalized a 78-year-old veteran’s home – bringing hope and happiness to a local resident named Larry.
San Jose Marriott’s home improvement project is part of Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley’s ongoing mission to remodel homes and community facilities in the Silicon Valley. Since 1991, Rebuilding Together has revitalized 2,500 homes and buildings in the region.
With paint, brooms, ladders, and hammers in hand, a crew of San Jose Marriott associates repaired and installed safety modifications to Larry’s 25-year-old mobile home. That day, it was transformed into a fresher, more cheerful, and safer place to live.
Upon seeing his “new” home, Larry beamed and expressed his appreciation for the team’s gesture. Larry’s smile spoke volumes.
“When we saw Larry’s happiness, it made us even happier. I honestly don’t know who benefited more from the day of home repairs,” says John Southwell, General Manager, San Jose Marriott.
Thank you, San Jose Marriott associates, for going above and beyond!
