At Marriott International, putting people first has been in our DNA since our founders opened a small root beer stand nearly 90 years ago. All these years later, we put this same philosophy into practice today through the TakeCare Movement – our elevated focus on associate happiness and wellbeing.

In this spirit of helping associates live their best lives – in February, the leadership team from the Renaissance Sao Paulo Hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil, hosted a “Fun Day” as an opportunity to celebrate their commitment to their associates’ wellbeing and happiness.

Part of the festivities included circus classes, where associates could practice some of their entertainment skills with each other, as well as a visit from a local magician, who performed tricks and illusions for associates while in the associate cafeteria.

Afterward, TakeCare Champions – associate volunteers with a passion for wellbeing, relationship building, community, and sustainability – distributed ice cream to associates throughout the hotel. A sweet ending to an enjoyable day, indeed!

This is another example of how, through TakeCare, Marriott helps associates focus on their health and the importance of taking care of themselves, just as they take care of our guests.
