Sheraton’s new #GoBeyond campaign highlights the actions of associates who go above and beyond for their customers and their colleagues. Their seventh campaign features Gabriel Fuentes Vazquez, a concierge at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel.
Gabriel began working at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel 22 years ago. He got his start in HR, then worked on the bell staff before becoming a concierge. As a Mexico City native, he loves helping guests discover new sides of the city. An important part of that job is knowing what is happening around the city at any given time. So when Gabriel isn’t working, he spends time exploring the city and visiting new places with his wife and two daughters so he can make better recommendations to guests. When asked to recall a time that he went beyond for a guest, this is what Gabriel shared:
“One time, a guest came to visit Mexico City to learn more about his family history and heritage. One of the goals of his trip was to find where his grandfather was laid to rest, but there was little information to work with beyond his grandfather’s first and last name. I called cemeteries across the city, narrowing to a few locations, and then I helped look through record books to identify which was the right one. After working together to research, the guest was able to lay flowers for his grandfather and learn about his family’s history in Mexico City.”
