Sheraton’s #GoBeyond campaign highlights the actions of associates who go above and beyond for their customers and their colleagues. Their 12th story in this campaign features Timoci Buli (known as Jim) in maintenance at the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island.
A property doesn’t run without a dedicated maintenance staff. Jim has been performing maintenance and plumbing at various resorts around Fiji for the last 25 years. He grew up on a smaller island and started this work to help support his parents and seven siblings. Over the years, he gained a reputation for his willingness to go beyond, and the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island sought him out to work on their maintenance staff. While the resort is a long boat ride from Jim’s home in Nadi, he enjoys his work on the island and loves being able to fix guests’ problems and improve their stay.
While Jim has many Go Beyond moments under his belt, one that stuck out to him was when there was a leak on property that was causing the resort to run low on fresh water. Jim worked through the night to locate the source and find a suitable solution.
Short and sweet, here is what Jim has to say about that go beyond experience.
“I don’t care what time or what I have to do, day or night, I just want the guests to be happy.”
