Sheraton Goes Beyond: Tracy Barr

Sheraton’s new #gobeyond campaign highlights the actions of associates who go above and beyond for their customers and their colleagues. The second campaign spotlight shines on Tracy Barr, a Business Travel Sales Manager from the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles, who has been in a sales role with the property since before its renovation. Her challenges went from trying to sell rooms in a hotel under construction, to now trying to find enough space for everyone who wants to stay with them. Her general mantra is, “when you’re here, you’re in my house,” and makes it really feel like that for all guests. Here’s what Tracy has to say about a time she got to Go Beyond:

“We have many corporate travelers who stay with us Monday through Thursday. Some of them spend more time in our hotels than at home. During one of his many stays, one Platinum traveler shared with me that he had recently become a first-time father! He proudly showed off photos of his newborn daughter on his phone. Though he was really appreciating the restful night’s sleep he was getting here at the hotel, he missed his wife and baby and decided to transfer closer to home. To help him through his last couple of weeks at the hotel, we uploaded family photos from his public Facebook account onto his guestroom television system. When he checked in on his last Monday evening and entered his guestroom, the TV displayed a very personal welcome message that said, ‘See you soon Daddy’ with a slideshow of photos of his wife and daughter! We even printed a photo of the baby and had it in a silver frame by his bed. On his last night, we delivered a box of pink macarons from the renowned macaron maker, Bottega Louis, to take home. The guest was so touched by these personal gestures that he sent photos to his travel department, who loaded the photos onto their extranet for all the other company travelers to know that, when in L.A., the only place to stay is the Sheraton Grand – they go beyond all expectations!”
