As hoteliers we know how important a clean and fresh room is, when it comes to comfort and wellbeing. However, nobody likes cleaning alone so help is always appreciated. The Austrian Business Council hotels wanted to pitch in for those in need, organizing a spring clean in support of their long-time charitable partner, SOS Children’s Villages International. A total of 52 associates from the Austrian Business Council hotels came together to do some gardening, painting, cleaning of twelve separate apartments, and handling of other handyman tasks at the SOS Children‘s Villages Vienna.
SOS Children’s Villages works directly with families and communities to empower them to effectively care for their children. The Austrian Business Councils have supported them since 2004 through many events and fundraisers. Though the Austrian Business Councils could have stopped with just their volunteerism, they wanted to provide an outlet for the children to have some fun as well. The Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel hosted a large barbeque for the associates of the Austrian Business Council and the children of SOS Children’s Villages Vienna, using it as a fundraising opportunity for the organization.
Fifty-eight children from the SOS Children’s Villages Vienna attended the barbeque, giving the associates in attendance a great opportunity to see first-hand the beneficiaries of their hard work. In the end, the Austrian Business Councils raised more than 1,900 euro for the SOS Children’s Villages International’s “Youth Program,” which helps integrate youth into the workforce through mentoring.
Keep up the great work, Austrian Business Councils!
