The transformative power of a good job is one of the most impactful ways to serve people with disabilities. That philosophy is why the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities established the Bridges from School to Work program in 1989: to help transform the lives of young adults who have disabilities by helping them find – and keep – a good job, whether that’s at one of the 6,700 hotels in Marriott’s portfolio or outside of the hospitality industry altogether. In addition, the program also provides businesses with customized job placement and workforce development solutions to enhance both productivity and workforce diversification.
While the program has long been successful at helping twins and siblings find meaningful work, a first for the program came recently when the team was able to help triplets Annabel, Janice, and Samantha get jobs altogether in the housekeeping department at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
This is a great example of how associates live Marriott International’s core value of empowering through opportunity every day.
